Terms of Service
By using IDInfo you agree to the rules below. They cover acceptable use, rate limiting, third-party platform terms and the standard disclaimers.
Last updated: February 2025
By using IDInfo (“the Service,” “we,” “our”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Description of service
IDInfo is a free online tool that looks up publicly available profile information from social media platforms. The Service extracts data that is already public and does not access private or protected information.
2. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- Use the Service to harass, stalk or intimidate any individual.
- Attempt to bypass rate limits or otherwise abuse the Service.
- Use automated tools to scrape the Service at excessive rates.
- Attempt to access private or non-public data through the Service.
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Misrepresent yourself or your purpose when using the Service.
3. Rate limiting
The Service implements rate limiting to prevent abuse. The current limits are 30 requests per minute for the web interface and 60 requests per minute for the API. Exceeding these limits will result in a temporary access restriction (HTTP 429).
4. Data accuracy
The Service provides data on a “best-effort” basis. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or timeliness of any information displayed. Profile data is cached for 30 days and may not reflect the most recent changes on the source platform — you can force a refresh at any time via the API or by re-loading the profile page.
5. Intellectual property
Profile data (usernames, profile pictures, IDs, etc.) belongs to the respective platform users and platforms. IDInfo does not claim ownership of any third-party data. The IDInfo website design, code and branding are our intellectual property.
6. Third-party platforms
IDInfo interacts with third-party platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, YouTube, TikTok, GitHub, Threads, Telegram). Use of data obtained through our Service must comply with each platform’s own terms of service. We are not affiliated with any of these platforms.
7. Automated access
Automated or programmatic access to the IDInfo Service is not currently offered to the public. Bulk scraping, headless-browser automation, and rate-limit evasion are prohibited. Users with a legitimate integration need should contact us directly.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IDINFO SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.
10. Changes to these Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
